We wanted to share our experience in purchasing a Bison horse trailer through Thad Akins at Akins Trailer Sales in Oregon. My husband and I had been looking for several months to purchase a new or fairly new used horse trailer with a living quarters. Our search was more difficult than we first thought it might be. I ended up placing "wanted" ads on "Craig's list" and also on "www.horsetrailerworld.com". Thad evidently saw my ad and contacted me by e-mail. He worked with us and offered us much better prices than we could find in North Carolina at our local dealers or on-line. In the end, we could settle for a used trailer or put a little more with what we expected to pay and get our dream trailer...a new 2010 trailer with a slide!
I had always wanted a slide but didn't think we would be able to afford a new one and could not locate a used one in the price range we were looking for. To make a long story short we ended up placing our order with Thad. He was wonderful to work with. He delivered everything that was promised. I was a little nervous making this large of a purchase from out-of-state since you hear so many stories about scams. We did our research as best we could and went ahead with placing our order. Thad had the trailer delivered to our door in NC within weeks of placing our order. I would highly recommend Akins Trailers to anyone looking to purchase a horse trailer regardless of what state you live in!
